Youth from various nationalities are invited to join the first-ever Local Conference of Youth (LCOY) on climate change in the UAE, a global movement of youth led by Youth NGOs (YOUNGO) under the umbrella of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). Youth from 15 years to 35 years can join the event on January 29 and 30, 2021 which will be held online, promising to provide an inspiring event with the aim to initiate change in small and big ways.
Themed ‘United Youth for Climate Change’, the event is being hosted by the Raja Yoga Center as part of its program, Raja Yoga Center Environment Initiative, to enable like-minded youth and organizations to come together and give back to nature. It also promotes positive thinking as the foundation of leading a sustainable lifestyle.
LCOY UAE is set to bring together youngindividuals and various environmental organizations under one platform to interact with the youth and support them in their contributions to address the challenges of climate change. The event will feature inspiring young leaders in the UAE who have made a remarkable contribution in addressing the negative impact of human actions against the environment through their initiatives.

Some of the UAE-based multi-awarded young change enablers who continue to be an inspiration to many young people in the world include 15-year old Riva Tulpule, an international award-winner who has been spearheading an e-waste recycling campaign, as well as young artists Rahul and Rohan Raju who have been awarded as eco-heroes internationally. 13-year old, Sainath Manikandan who invented a marine robot cleaner will be also a major inspirer at the conference.Tender hearts Arena, that harnesses the talents of determined one’s will empower change towards a green movement as a natural lifestyle.
Leading local environmental organizations such as Bee’ah, Goumbook andAzraq will provide their expertise to help educate the participants, along with startup companies focused on promoting a sustainable lifestyle, including DGrade, Bioware, and Ecube Training and Consulting. Other individual change enablers include environmental sustainability advocate Zeina Shihab AlHashmi, vegan advocate Chetan Punjani, holistic wellbeing consultant Juan Vazquez, and UN COP participant and environment advocate Sonja Ohlsson.
