The importance of living sustainably in harmony with nature
Her Excellency Hana Saif Al Suwaidi, Chairperson of the Environment and Protected Areas Authority, said: “Every year, we focus on the importance of publicising World Environment Day, and we have a variety of activities, programmes and awareness events planned. Since 1973, the world has celebrated World Environment Day, one of the largest and most important events for addressing pressing environmental issues involving governments, institutions, bodies and individuals, and anyone interested in the environment."
Her Excellency added: "The celebration of World Environment Day this year comes under the slogan "Only One Earth", which indicates the importance of living sustainably, in harmony with nature, and bringing about transformative policy changes to support cleaner choices. Environmental sustainability must remain on the agenda as we only have one planet, our home, and we all must do whatever necessary to protect its limited resources."
