- Solar Power
In line with the Kingdom of Bahrain’s vision 2030 to reduce carbon emissions, minimize pollution and promote the sourcing of more suitable energy. The Avenues-Bahrain is proud to be taking a lead role in such initiatives. Its multi-story car park is fitted with a rooftop grid connected Solar Photovoltaics (PV) system, generating 250 KWp at peak, sufficient enough to operate the building at full load and reduce carbon footprint by 300 metric tons per year.
Operating since August 2018, this project is one of the first solar power plant constructed and one of its kind in the commercial and shopping mall establishments in the country, where Mabanee Bahrain is proud to operate and maintain the plant. This project poses as a great example for the private sectors in terms of achieving the government’s national target of five percent for renewable energy by 2025.
- Seaside Waste Removal
Additionally, The Avenues-Bahrain schedules routine waste removal activities twice a week to ensure its seaside is kept clean and in great condition for all its visitors to enjoy and to protect the habitat of marine and aquatic animals in the surrounding area.
- Recycling
Embracing a green approach to its business operations, The Avenues-Bahrain waste management systems incorporate strict waste segregation and recycling procedures of different materials. Recycling up to 138 tonnes of cardboard and paper, 492 Kg of steel and 790Kg of plastic waste and cans per year.
Since the initial phases of its construction, recycling has and will always continue to be a high priority for The Avenues-Bahrain.
