Thailand is the perfect place to see amazing places and experience new things. In the north, you can find jungle for trekking and mountains to gaze at. In the center of Bangkok, there’s wild party life and a city that never sleeps. As you travel down, things start to slow down, and you find the islands. Koh Phi Phi is one of the most interesting islands around Thailand, and there are lots to do and see. From boat trips to fantastic food, you’ll never have a dull moment.
Give rock climbing a go.
This may not be the first thing you think of when you bring Phi Phi Islands to your mind – more likely you’re thinking of beaches and the sea, but the islands also have a flourishing rock climbing scene. We recommend finding one of the many companies that run rock climbing day trips, as they will make sure you have all the correct equipment, and that you have a guide with you at all times showing you the ropes. Try to find a climb that isn’t in the middle of the day to avoid the worst of the sun, and instead, try an evening climb that will take you to the tops of the climb just in time to see the sun setting over the beautiful scenery.
Take a trip to Ao Pileh Bay.
Much of Thailand is teeming with people and activity, and sometimes, you want to find a place that’s peaceful and quiet. Luckily, Thailand has plenty of options for you, and Ao Pileh Bay is one of them. You’ll find cliffs all around you and the clearest water you’ve ever seen. Take your time to wander around the bay and take in the sights, and maybe try a dip in the warm water. If you bring snorkeling gear, you’ll be able to see the fish and coral in the water all around you.
Hire a kayak for the day.
The sea and beaches are one of the main reasons you’ll want to visit Koh Phi Phi. There are many boating trips you can take, but if you’re up for a little more adventure and time to see things at your own speed, then hiring a kayak is a great option. They are inexpensive, and you’ll be able to find spots off the beaten path that tours won’t take you to. If you want to take your snorkeling equipment to get a closer look underneath, it can make the day even more exciting.
Check out the Mosquito Island.
The name may be off-putting, and is there for a reason! Get your highest deet spray out and lather up! It’s worth the bugs, though, as you can see things like shipwrecks around the island if you’re into diving. If heading into the deep is your passion, then get your diving gear ready for a trip as you’ll see some of the best sights in your life submerged over 80 m in the sea.
