Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower), the world’s largest district cooling services provider, participated in the opening session and first-day proceedings of the 3D virtual edition of the Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) and Dubai Solar Show 2020. WETEX is held annually under the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and under the Patronage of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance of the UAE and President of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA).
With a keynote speech, HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum inaugurated the innovative carbon-neutral virtual event, which is the first of its kind in the Middle East and North Africa. On the top of the attendees, comes, Saeed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, the organizer of the exhibition, and Ahmad Bin Shafar, CEO of Empower, a strategic sponsor of the event.
“Truly, WETEX is a global platform and a major event”, said Empower CEO. “It reflects the absolute keenness of the UAE’s wise leadership to enhance global cooperation so as to provide the latest technological solutions in the field of energy and to support the global trends towards sustainability, rationalization of consumption and optimal use of resources – all for a better life for the coming generations” he added.
At Empower’s virtual pavilion, it highlights the efforts exerted and the achievements realized by the company in 2020 in preserving water resources and reducing energy consumption. It also shed light on the modern innovative technologies that Empower uses in the district cooling operations and the greater distinction the company seeks to attain in its future projects.
“Using advanced video conferencing technologies, the company held several meetings with key international partners and other parties who are looking for opportunities to cooperate and seek to benefit from the technologies Empower has developed for the advancement of the district cooling industry”, Shafar explained.
Shafar also applauded the tremendous efforts made by Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) to launch the virtual version of the event and its success in bringing together the leaders of this vital industry from around the globe on a 3D platform, which allows them to share experiences and enrich the present as well as the future energy industry. “Participants are going through a unique and exciting experience as they are given the opportunity to take part in the event while at their companies’ headquarters around the world”, the CEO concluded.
