Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (EMPOWER), the world’s largest district cooling service provider, has revealed that the number of buildings using its district cooling servicesacross the Emirate of Dubai has reached920 in 2016, an increase of 13.6% Year on Year (YoY) 2015.

According to Empower, there are many reasons behind this increase; one of which is the increase in new projects using the company’s services last year, as well as the increase in its operational capacity.Moreover, more clients including building owners and developers prefer district cooling servicesover the conventional cooling systems.

Empower explained that expectedly the efficiency of its services keeps growing up alongside the increase in the numberof buildings using its services. 

“District cooling service represents the future of the chilling services in the world. During the coming years, we will see more building owners and developers converting from conventional chilling methods to district cooling,not only in Dubai and the UAE, but also globally. The international real estate industrynow requiresefficient, affordable and eco-friendly cooling services,” said Ahmad Bin Shafar, CEO of Empower.

“The ongoing increase in the number of buildings using Empower service comes as good yet expected.
