The Commercial Compliance & Consumer Protection (CCCP) Sector in Dubai Economy has started receiving applications from businesses wishing to participate in the Consumer Friendly Standards evaluation announced earlier this year. The initiative is part of the efforts of Dubai Economy to develop the customer experience and merchant-consumer relations in the local market, thereby strengthening business competitiveness and sustainability in Dubai.
Applications for the evaluation can be submitted until the 1st of November 2019. Companies can register on the website: https://consumerrights.ae and then download the evaluation document from the Criteria page, fill and attach it along with documentary proof of their best practices and future plans under each of the four themes, namely, Strategy, Communication, Customer care, and Development. The evaluation will be completed by the CCCP team of evaluators.
Ahmed Al Zaabi, Director of Consumer Protection in CCCP said: “We are delighted to start registering applicants for the Consumer Friendly Standards initiative launched in the first quarter of 2019. We organised 21 workshops to introduce the standards and had 1,221 companies and business groups attending with a 93% overall satisfaction rate. At Dubai Economy we aspire to educate various sectors on consumer friendly standards and ways to apply them to support business development and competitiveness.”
Al Zaabi said that the evaluation reports will contain innovative content on each of the four themes and can be used to identify the positive and negative aspects of the customer service provided by the applicant. It will help businesses improve their services, products and the overall purchasing experience for shoppers in Dubai and across the UAE.
Al Zaabi added: “Dubai has various business sectors with tremendous potential and the retail sector particularly is an engine of economic growth in the emirate. We invite all businesses wishing to adopt the best and most competitive practices register for evaluating their consumer friendly standards.”
The introductory workshops, led by Al Fadl Essa Al Humairi, Deputy Director Consumer Friendly Standards Team in CCCP, included a detailed presentation of the registration process and the themes, as well as information on preparing field studies and the benefits of the evaluation reports in business development.
