An Italian delegation led by Liborio Stellino, Ambassador of Italy to the UAE, has visited Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, DEWA, and discussed ways to enhance strategic partnerships between DEWA and Italian organisations, and exchange best global experiences and practices.

This is one of a series of visits by diplomatic and consular officials to DEWA to consult and strengthen cooperation. The two parties discussed methods to build closer ties in the energy and water sectors.

At the meeting, Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of DEWA, and the Italian delegation discussed benchmarking renewable energy sources, energy storage, smart grid technologies, cybersecurity, innovation, disruptive technologies, and the latest developments in digital transformation and automation.

Al Tayer briefed the Italian delegation on DEWA’s most important projects, initiatives, and programmes that help achieve the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to anticipate, shape, and build a sustainable future.

The Italian delegation expressed interest in participating in DEWA’s clean and renewable energy projects, and praised its efforts in driving sustainable development in Dubai, which is a leading global hub for sustainability and green economy.

The delegation included Simonetta Grisanti, Commercial Attache, and representatives of the Italian Trade Agency, the General Confederation of Italian Industry, and financial institutions.
