His Excellency Dr Abdulla Al Mandous, President of the Regional Association (RA) of Asia II in the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), recognized the outstanding efforts and achievements of the Saudi General Authority of Meteorology and Environmental Protection during Hajj season.

On the occasion, His Excellency Dr Al Mandous said: “We congratulate the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on the great services provided by the General Authority of Meteorology and Environmental Protection in Saudi through the publication of accurate forecasts in several languages, contributed to the protection of millions of lives and the preservation of property during the Hajj season. The effective techniques employed, as well as methods of work applied by the capable human capital at the Authority helped in ensuring a seamless Hajj for worshipers. Being  an active member of the Regional Association ‘Asia’ II in the World Meteorological Organization, the Saudi General Authority of Meteorology and Environmental Protection Agency demonstrated once again as a prominent regional player related to weather, environment and climate in the Middle East.”

The President of RA II also conveyed that the success set by Saudi Arabia left us an exemplar which reveals that technical advancement combined with the timely dissemination of the information that too at user’s preferred languages for the public as well as regional global communities at large will contribute much to the safety of life and property against extreme weather events.

KSA’s General Authority of Meteorology and Environmental Protection shared the success of their work, programs and plans for the 1440 Hijri Year Hajj Season. The Authority broadcasted 600 weather bulletins and conducted 766 inspection tours to ensure environmental protection measures during the Hajj season.
