STORY Hospitality, an integrated and innovative hospitality management platform, is fully committed to reducing the impact on the environment by implementing a long-lasting strategy that is built on the protection of the environment. With an aim to augment its sustainability initiatives, STORY Hospitality signed a partnership with Green Key which supports all hotels under its portfolio with tools and resources for sustainability certification.

The hospitality firm is driving positive environmental and social change across its operations, supply chain and communities through some of the company’s most impactful green initiatives: 

STORY Seychelles  

The boutique resort has earned an award for the ‘Leading Green Resort Seychelles 2020’ for three consecutive years for its consistent and ground-breaking initiatives such as dedicated ecological areas, contributing to educational and local projects within and outside the property. 

The resort is the only property in Seychelles to have a food composter through which all food waste is recycled and utilised as a fertiliser in the landscaping of the property. The property encourages a "switch-off policy" amongst the staff and guests to conserve energy. To support the community, spa treatment products are sourced locally, as well as fresh seafood and catches of the day are bought to the property from the island’s fishermen. The resort also grows its very own herb & vegetable garden & fruit trees. The property is one of the only resorts in Seychelles who are actively working on coral restoration project and lagoon conservation, which is maintained by a dedicated team. Furthermore, the property has implemented various alternatives solution to eliminate plastic and aims to be plastic free by end of 2021. 

Fisherman’s Cove, Seychelles 

The iconic resort is built upon the principle of protecting the environment and received a certification by the Seychelles Sustainable Tourism Label. The resort has implemented various long-term strategies which include using recycled products, ensuring advancements towards a better and sustainable future. Aligned to its sustainable policy, the five-star resort in partnership with Marine Conservation Society Seychelles, has initiated a coral reef restoration project in the reef located in front of the resort. Guests can visit and experience how baby corals are grown and learn the importance of preserving them for mother nature. 

STORY Rabat 

As part of the Moroccan efforts to promote sustainable tourism, STORY Rabat Boutique Hotel & Spa is fully committed to reducing the impact on the environment by implementing a long-lasting strategy. Guests, visitors, colleagues, tenants, owners and suppliers are an essential part of the hotel’s sustainable strategy. The hotel’s goal is to be plastic free and have reduced the use of plastic in its daily activities as much as possible.  

STORY Rabat encourages guests to reuse towels during their stay as well as replacing plastic water bottles with glass bottles, installing sensor lights across the hotel alleys to reduce energy consumption to a substantial extent. The hotel is working towards being a 100% LED illuminated property in an aim to optimize inconsistency and to preserve energy. 

CUE Podgorica 

CUE Podgorica is the first Green Key member in Podgorica. The hotel has introduced new advanced technology to monitor energy and water consumption. It has implemented various smart ways to keep a check on the daily energy consumption, for example, the air conditioning Smart switches, motion sensors and low consumption light bulbs across the hotel. 

As part of its contactless services, paperless check-ins are available and guests can get all the information by scanning a QR Code. Effective resource management is an essential part of the hotel’s sustainability management plan. The property adheres to all necessary environmental rules and regulations. The popular getaway destination constantly strives to develop practices to preserve and protect natural resources while providing world-class service and experience to guests. 

H Dubai 

The H Dubai received The Green Key Certification for 2021 by the Emirates Green Building Council. The hotel has implemented the use of green cards and green stickers in the room to conserve energy and water. The property has also introduced Super Green Vouchers through which guests can choose not to have their room cleaned for the day. In return, they receive a voucher which can be redeemed at the hotel or donated for a charitable cause. The H Dubai has recently partnered with DGrade, a sustainable manufacturing company based in Dubai that recycles used plastic water bottles turning it into high-quality clothing and accessories. All polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles consumed at The H Dubai are directly given to DGrade to be recycled.
