The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, DEWA, the organiser of the Water, Energy and Environment Technology Exhibition, WETEX 2017, has announced a large expected turnout from public and private institutions that provide environmental solutions and green technologies at the 19th WETEX, which will take place from 23rd to 25th October at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

WETEX is held under the directives of Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance and President of DEWA. The exhibition will coincide with the second Dubai Solar Show, under the umbrella of the fourth "Green Week."

The exhibition will provide a unique platform for businessmen, investors, government decision-makers, consumers and business partners with an interest in the public and private sectors. It will also focus on promoting innovative green solutions and technologies in the areas of water, clean and renewable energy, environment, oil and gas, and environmental sustainability.

"The exhibition adheres to the vision of our wise leadership, to present the nation’s efforts in environmental conservation and in enhancing partnerships with the private sector. WETEX focusses on a variety of activities related to energy conservation, water, environmental protection, waste management, green buildings and cutting-edge solutions to reduce carbon dioxide emissions. It is also a unique opportunity for investors to build business relationships, enhance business opportunities, and meet with leading companies and decision-makers from different countries from around the world within a single platform," said Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA and Founder and Chairman of WETEX.

"The exhibition is also a meeting point for specialists, experts, solution providers and investors, as well as decision-makers and consumers from the public and private sectors. The meeting of this considerable number of decision-makers and investors over a period of three days, makes investment opportunities in green technologies much more attractive," added Al Tayer.

"The UAE is recording a growing demand for green technology solutions. This is due to the modernisation of laws and the introduction of new standards for electrical appliances, while highlighting the advantages of these technologies, such as reducing operational costs and carbon dioxide emissions. The exhibition promotes the adoption of green technologies and solutions, and supports the Government of Dubai’s approach to raising awareness about the importance of using green technologies and solutions," noted Al Tayer.
