Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, DEWA, has completed 109km of the project to supply, extend and commission water distribution networks. The total is 162km, with 67.3 percent of the project completed so far in different parts of Dubai, at a total cost of AED 210 million.
"The main objective of the project is to develop water distribution networks in Al Khawaneej 2, TechnoPark, and other new areas in Dubai, to improve operational efficiencies and increase the flow of water to meet the rapid growth in water in various parts of Dubai," said Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of DEWA.
"The project includes 450- and 100-millimetre-diameter extensions of Glass-Reinforced Epoxy main water pipelines to provide continuous and stable water supplies that are reliable, efficient, and always available, to achieve the happiness of customers and stakeholders," said Al Tayer.
"The implementation of the project is going according to plan, and is expected to be complete by the end of 2017," he concluded.
