The EcoWASTE Exhibition today inaugurated the Waste Management Solutions Forum, a premium event that gathers solutions providers and municipalities to discuss sustainable waste management strategies.

Saif Mohamed AlShara, Assistant Under-Secretary, Sustainable Communities Sector, UAE delivered the opening address, highlighting the role of waste management in creating sustainable environments. Following his address, Eng. Saeed Al Mehairbi, Acting General Manager, Tadweer, The Centre of Waste Management – Abu Dhabi, delivered the keynote speech, highlighting Abu Dhabi’s waste management strategy.

With a future-centric agenda committed to advancing sustainable waste management and recycling across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA the fifth edition of EcoWASTE Exhibition is currently taking place at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre. The event is hosted by Masdar, as part of the annual Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, in strategic partnership with Tadweer.

Commenting on the Waste Management Solutions Forum, Saeed Al Mehairbi, Acting General Manager of Tadweer said, "As the populations rises, there is a greater need to address waste management in a sustainable manner. As a leading industry platform, Waste Management Solutions Forum tackles the most pressing issues of the day with the help of solution providers, thought leaders and policymakers, and the discussions today were rich, invigorating and informative. "

The Forum hosted panel sessions and presentations with high-level industry leaders and decision makers on integral topics such as reducing landfill stress and elimination of dumpsites, waste-to-energy programmes, recycling used oil, utilizing data analytics for future waste services, and innovations for a zero-waste society.

The 2018 EcoWASTE Exhibition will bring together more than 6,900 visitors from 71 countries and strong exhibitor participation from across the MENA region.
