Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower), the world’s largest district cooling services provider, organised a Wellness Campaign for its employees. This is part of its commitment to implement local and international safety regulations, as well as the best global practices, to maintain the health and safety of its employees. The move falls in line with the company’s social responsibility programmes, and its commitment to support Dubai government’s vision of a happy, healthy and safe society in accordance with its 2021 goal – ‘Inclusive and Cohesive Society’, and the UN goal – Good Health and Wellbeing. The campaign is organized to mark the “ Year of Zayed” that was earlier announced by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, that 2018 has been dedicated to highlight the role of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, founder of the UAE in establishing the Federation and his local, regional and global achievements.
The campaign was held at Empower’s headquarters and staff accommodation in Dubai in cooperation with Neuron. Free comprehensive health check-ups were done for all Empower’s staff members. These included check-ups for diabetes, high blood pressure, cholesterol, body mass index, hepatitis, stomach bacteria, as well as skin and hair tests.
“The campaign is part of Empower’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in health. It focuses on Empower’s staff members, as we believe they are the main pillars of its success and development. Empower’s 14-year success as being the world’s largest district cooling services provider, is the result of our management policy and our commitment to provide best in-class health and safety practices to our employees. This resulted in a positive impact on their long-term performance and creativity,” said Ahmad Bin Shafar, CEO of Empower.
Bin Shafar highlighted that Empower is committed providing a healthy environment for its employees. He emphasised that this event witnessed huge participation from Empower’s staff, who confirmed the importance of periodic exams to prevent chronic diseases.
“Our aim is to encourage employees to undergo regular exercising, follow a healthy lifestyle, all in the framework of our happiness strategy. We are confident that providing world-class services to the community of Dubai is closely associated with ensuring the comfort of the human capital behind it,” concluded Bin Shafar.
