ENOC Group has received the ‘Idea of the Year’ award at the 32nd edition of ideasUK event recently held in Manchester, England. The Group was awarded in the ‘Digital and Technology’ category for the development and implementation of innovative solutions across their service stations network.
The theme of this year’s IdeasUK was ‘Power of Ideas’ that focused on the most innovative and sustainable solutions across different verticals. The ‘Idea of the Year’ category recognised an idea that made an improvement by using novel manufacturing, engineering, construction or technical solution, including the use of digital technology and media.
Speaking on the occasion, Saif Humaid Al Falasi, Group CEO of ENOC, said, "At ENOC, our aim is to lead by example, drive innovation, implement sustainable operations and ensure all-round business growth. The ‘Idea of the Year’ award is proof of our efforts that are geared towards reducing our carbon footprint and maintaining environmental integrity."
This year’s edition of the IdeasUK witnessed a substantial number of submissions by corporations across the world. The winners were shortlisted after a thorough evaluation by an esteemed panel of judges including Dr. Ayesha Al Mutawa, Director of Strategy and Future Department at the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention; Stuart Laws, UK Ministry of Defence Idea Scheme; Michael Davies, Global Head of Idea Management, HSBC Bank and many others.
The shortlisted applicants also had one-on-one interactions where the judges evaluated ideas, implementation and the viability of the solutions. ENOC was distinguished for its cutting edge technologies deployed across its retail network, including the use of Photovoltaic (PV) solar panels on service station canopies, vapor recovery solutions and other technologies such as variable refrigerant flow and the implementation of motion sensor energy lighting.
