Environmental NGO Emirates Nature-WWF’s Board of Directors convened at its annual General Assembly, marking a significant milestone as the organization celebrates 25 years of conservation impact. The meeting reaffirmed Emirates Nature-WWF’s commitment to scaling up environmental action through a science-based and community-led approach under the tagline ‘Conservation in Action,’ aligning with the UAE Year of Community in 2025. This year-long movement will engage and mobilize people across the nation for nature.

On the occasion of World Wildlife Day and in celebration of its 25-year anniversary, Rasmala reaffirms its commitment to sustainability and environmental conservation in the UAE. Through a partnership with Goumbook’s Trees Matter campaign in line with the UAE’s Ministry of Climate Change and EnvironmentNational Carbon Sequestration Program, Rasmala is planting 500 mangrove trees, honouring its 25-year journey while actively supporting the UAE’s national pledge to plant 100 million mangroves by 2030.

Zelostech wins DHL’s Fast Forward Challenge startup program in the Middle East& Africa. The five shortlisted startups of this year’s Fast Forward Challenge presented groundbreaking applications based on AI and automation that have the potential to redefine logistics and workforce efficiency while driving more sustainable supply chains in the MEA region. The innovative solutions ranged from strategic people analytics platforms to a collaborative mobility approach bridgingthe gap between manual labor andautomation to fully automated robots and vehicles for intralogistics, mid- and last-mile deliveries.

Parkin Company PJSC (Parkin), the largest provider of paid public parking facilities and services in Dubai, announced an update to its electric vehicle (EV) charging partnership with Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA). As part of the first phase of this sustainability initiative, DEWA will install new charging stations in the first quarter of 2025. These stations will operate on alternating current (AC) with a capacity of 22 kilowatts x 2 and will be strategically placed across prime parking sites managed by Parkin. Each charging station will serve two parking spaces.
