"Every year, the UNEP-led World Environment Day (WED) highlights a critical environmental issue, and, in the process, brings together the global think tank to address the underlying factors and spearhead international efforts to protect the environment.

Her Excellency Dr. Amna bint Abdullah Al Dahak, Minister of Climate Change and Environment, highlighted the importance of this year’s World Environment Day theme, noting the far-reaching impact drought and desertification have on different sectors and aspects of life, and the urgent need to rehabilitate degraded land.
