The UAE Organising Committee for the 2019 Abu Dhabi World Energy Congress has announced that the Emirates Nuclear Energy Company (ENEC) has joined as a Host Sponsor of the 2019 Congress, to take place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre from 9 to 12 September.
ENEC’s will Host the Congress representing the upcoming clean energy sector, underscoring how clean, safe and efficient nuclear energy is supporting the diversification of the UAE’s economy as part of the UAE Energy Strategy 2050. ENEC’s participation during the 2019 Congress will also serve the interests of regional and international countries who are looking towards peaceful nuclear energy as a technology to power economic growth with safe, reliable and emission-free generated electricity.
Over the last three years, the Issues Monitor of the World Energy Council has highlighted the increasing certainty that energy leaders have towards peaceful nuclear energy as a reliable and viable technology to power the growth of nations around the world.
Dr. Matar Al Neyadi, Undersecretary at the UAE Ministry of Energy and Industry and Chairman of the UAE Organising Committee for the 24th World Energy Congress, said: “Nuclear energy is a strategic component of the UAE’s transformation to a low-carbon economy and society. The World Energy Congress is the World Energy Council’s flagship event. Held every three years in select international cities, the World Energy Congress is the world’s largest, longest-running and most influential energy gathering. Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, the 24th edition will take place from 9 to 12 September 2019 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC). This will mark the first time the Congress has been hosted in a Middle Eastern city in the event’s 90-year history.
